In the roadmap to easing lockdown restrictions, Boris Johnson has stated that that the UK will be back to ‘normal’ on 21 June 2021.
This is of course dependant on all measures being met, including the continued rollout of the vaccine and hospital admissions remaining low to protect the NHS.
The UK has so far administered nearly 25 million first vaccine doses and this number is expected to increase significantly in the coming weeks. The vaccine rollout plays a pivotal role in re-opening the country and keeping everyone safe from COVID-19.
It still hasn’t been made clear whether or not vaccine passports will be needed to travel but employers are advised to implement vaccination and testing policy guidelines.
We understand that businesses have a lot to get their head around at the moment with lockdown restrictions set to ease in less than a month. If you would like to take a load off your shoulders, we can provide guidance for the policies and templates you need including:
- Vaccination policies for your business
- A covering letter to employees about your vaccination and testing policy
- COVID-19 workplace risk checklist
- Vaccine register for all staff
It’s natural that both employers and employees will be nervous about returning to the workplace. To help keep everyone safe, you can register for free rapid tests so you can conduct regular workplace testing. Please head to the gov.uk website to register your interest. Please note this must be done by 31 March 2021.
If you would like further information about the guidance or templates mentioned above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with PKB.
